About This Piece

The Moyie at Heritage Park is a half-sized replica of the Moyie in Kaslo, which was used to ferry passengers and cargo up and down the Kootenay river and lake systems in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

There's a picnic table behind the railway barns overlooking the Glenmore Reservoir, and I spent an afternoon there in July of 2016 making drawings and photographing the Moyie as it travelled back and forth around the reservoir.

I used the drawings and photographs as source material for this studio painting.

This piece is SOLD to Jeremy Broadfield.
