During 2019, I continuted to be involved with former members of the Emmaus Group, and was conducting a variety of studio experiments. "Legends in Sand" was hosted by my friend Linda Graham from the Emmaus Group - she attends Shepherd's Gate Church, so she was able to obtain the wall space for the show.
"En Plein Air" is an annual exhibition of paintings and drawings created at the Coutts Centre for Western Canadian Heritage near Nanton, Alberta. It takes place during the weeks just before Christmas at the Dr. Foster James Penny Building in Lethbridge. The organizations responsible for making this happen are The University of Lethbridge Faculty of Fine Arts, Alumni Association Art Gallery and The Coutts Centre. |
These are plein aire landscape paintings that I completed while visiting Maple Creek during the summer of 2019. I stayed at the Tumbling Angels Artist Loft directly above the Broken Spoke Fine Art Gallery. For more information about collecting these pieces, contact Blaine Filthaut, at 306-661-8425. |
Variations on a Grain Elevator Cruising down the #1 Highway heading East, you can't help but notice grain elevators by the side of the highway. They come to live in your dreams. These pieces are how the Strathmore grain elevator came to me in my dreams. |

My solo show at Avenue Church (7642 22 St SE, Calgary, AB), arranged and curated by Linda Graham. Avenue Church recently changed management, and as of May 5th, is now known as "Shepherd's Gate." The show was up from March 8th to June 29th, 2019. |
Wisdom - the show. This show took place at First Lutheran Church duiring the first quarter of 2019. The pieces were selected by Sharon Sargent. Wisdom - the collection These were the pieces I was hoping would get into the show. My intention was to tell the story of Solomon and the two mothers through a series of tableaux. The story comes from the Bible, and is used to illustrate Solomon's great wisdom. |
Sharon Sargent organized this show at her church. The idea behind the show was that the elements of nature praise God by showing what He can make. |
