Laurel Ellerton posted this challenge at Simply Art, IAC. She proposed the following exercise: A fantasy in purple, a landscape or seascape in blue, a flying object or bird in yellow, a garden decoration in red, an architectural structure in orange, an animal in brown, and trees / a garden in green.
All of these pieces were done using watercolour pencil crayons in a 5x7 mixed media sketchbook, between September 19 and September 23, 2021. I used vacation photos I took during the summer of 2006 in Procter as my source material, except for the Entrance to the Japanese Garden, which I took at Butchart Gardens in the spring of 2017.
