I was born in Calgary, in 1961. I was educated at the Alberta College of Art in two periods - a diploma in Painting which I earned in 1984, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts, whichI earned in 2004.
I have maintained a working art studio since 1984. I have been affiliated with a number of arts organizations, including the Calgary Burns Society, Off Centre Centre, TRUCK: an artist-run centre, and The Emmaus Group. I am currently involved with the Sacred Arts Guild of Alberta, and during the COVID-19 pandemic, I have also been very involved with the Artists of Pandemic Lockdown, who are now two groups - ArtKula, and Simply Art IAC.
You can make a private appointment at the Studio to view and purchase my artwork.
My goal is to make a virtual hole in the wall that opens into a place where you can send your imagination on a wonderful adventure. I have been inspired by German Expressionism and by Romantic Realism. I like the Impressionists, especially Paul Cezanne, and I like Emily Carr, Margaret Shelton, and the Group of Seven, along with other Great Canadians of the West. I own a small collection of famous Canadian paintings and drawings which I inherited from my father. These works, which reside in our dining room, are my daily inspiration.
